Saturday’s bout is a big one, and we’re pulling out all the stops. TV and radio interviews are planned, league members are attaching flyers and posters to everything surface imaginable, mentions on Facebook and the rest of social media are running on the redline. Derby even invaded academia when Crushed Red Pepper crashed Professor Plutonium’s class for a quick Derby 101 discussion.
Check out Bridge Street Live, 10 a.m. Thursday on WSYR TV9 in Syracuse as members from Oz and our Saturday opponent Assault City Roller Derby’s Assault Squad spice up the local talk show. Two rival leagues on live TV! Fishnets! Booty shorts! Spunk! What could possibly happen? Tune in to find out.
On Friday morning, tune into 93Q as Oz and ACRD members appear on the popular Ted & Amy show. There’s a rumor some derby girls will make some unscheduled appearances around the region throughout the day.
Expect us to be popping up in all kinds of places this week, a kind of Operation: Saturation. We apologize in advance for the flood, but the final bout of the season — Star Pass of Doom on Saturday night in Oswego’s Crisafulli Rink — is very important to us. It’s your last chance to catch the Oz Roller Girls this season, and we’d love to see you!
