Being a competitive roller derby league means remaining open to opportunities when they arrive. Such as when the Capital City Derby Dolls’ Dolly Rogers from Ottawa — a top-30 B travel team in their home and native land — emailed us last week because a hole opened up on their schedule for a bout in their fair town on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Our response: Heck yeah! If all Canadian derby teams are anywhere near as awesome as the Kingston Derby Girls, we’d happily cross the border for some action!

So another international match is on, and we can’t wait! O Canada, the Oz girls stand on guard for thee!
