For most children, August creeping onto the calendar means the mixed emotions of the return of school. The end of their summer freedom combined with the opportunity to spend regular time with friends again. But for some students and their families, the looming school year brings additional anxiety.

The sad fact is many families in Oswego County can’t afford the necessarily school supplies for their kids to meet classroom needs. The good news is the United Way’s Stuff A Bus is there to help. And so are we!

At the rest of our home bouts — Highway to Hurt on Aug. 18 and Star Pass of Doom on Sept. 15 — we’ll accept supplies for the Stuff A Bus program, which gets school necessities into the hands of neediest local youngsters. Join us to make sure every Oswego County child can roll into the first day of school with one less thing to worry about. Thank you to all who have donated or will help make a difference.
